Between Pounta and the small island of Pavlopetri lie remains of a prehistoric town. The shallow setting makes the place unusually tangible, but it is an archaeological landscape rather than a collection of souvenirs. Read about the site before going and leave every trace untouched.
Plan it from Agios Dimitrios
Pavlopetri lies near the crossing to Elafonisos, so the two stories can share a day if you start early. Swimming and visibility depend on conditions, and any site guidance in force should take precedence.
